WOW! L.C. Shaw, the author of “The Silent Conspiracy” has written an intense, riveting, captivating, enthralling and intriguing novel. The genres for this novel are thriller, suspense, mystery and fiction. This is the second book in the Jack Logan series. There would be an advantage to reading the first book, but it can be read alone. L.C. Shaw describes her dramatic characters as complex and complicated. Some characters are evil, mean-spirited, master manipulators, deceivers, dysfunctional and mentally unbalanced. Other characters are courageous, brave and resourceful. The timeline for this story is set in the present and goes to the past when it pertains to the characters and events.

There is the contrast of good and evil, betrayals, danger, threats and death. There are Political Power Games, and the use of chemical substances that are mind altering. There are Insurance companies that decide the life and death of people. Who are the “Master Minds” behind these despicable and treacherous events? Why are these events happening? Why are certain parties interested in special coins?

Jack Logan, an investigative reporter, and his wife Taylor have been involved in shutting down some big Institute. Both are dealing with the problems in the present. Why are their roles so significant to the plot?

L.C. Shaw is an amazing story teller, and vividly describes the characters, events, and plot in the story. I was literally on the edge of my seat, again reading to chew my nails. I read this book in one sitting and could not put it down. There are twists and turns, and unpredictable events. This is a page-turning book, that is full of action and adventure. It is like “Will we beat the clock??” I loved this story, and eagerly await the next novel!! I highly recommend this thought-provoking and chilling political thriller.
