Kerry Winfrey, the Author of “Faking Christmas,” has written a delightful, charming, and witty novel. The genres for this novel are Rom-Com, Christmas Romance, Adult Chick Lit, Contemporary Romance, and Fiction. The setting is mainly a country farmhouse just outside Columbus, Ohio, and also takes place in the City. The season is a very snowy Christmas. I love how Kerry Winfrey vividly describes the scenery very sensually. The author describes her dramatic and colorful characters as complex and complicated. There are secrets, betrayals, and loads of shenanigans. There are loads of twists and turns. This book is a stress-buster for the reader, and I highly recommend this memorable novel.
Laurel Grant and Holly are twins, and Christmas is their favorite time. It is also their Birthday. Although they are twins, Holly owns a farm with her husband and twin children. She cares for the animals, decorates, bakes, cooks, and does everything. On the other hand, Laurel can’t cook to save her life and lives in the City. Laurel is the social media manager for a magazine and appreciates her boss, Gilbert.
Laurel goes to work and finds Gilbert in tears. It seems that his wife left him at this critical time of the year. Gilbert lives through Laurel’s columns about her farm life and homemade recipes. Laurel had been writing about her sister’s farm and home-cooked meals but neglected to mention in her article that these were all Holly’s. Somehow, Gilbert invites himself to the farm for Christmas.
Not only does Laurel have to do damage control, but she also finds her nemesis, Max Beckett, will also be at the farm. Did I mention that Gilbert was expecting a home-cooked meal? Did I mention that there was a blizzard while they were there? Did I mention that adorable (in my opinion) animals have a distinctive personality? It seems that Laurel’s “little misunderstanding.”causes havoc with everyone and everything? For a wonderful experience, I suggest reading “Faking Christmas” Happy Reading!!!
