Linda Moore, the author of “Attribution” has written a captivating and intriguing novel. The Genres for this novel are Fiction, Historical Fiction, Contemporary, Art, Mystery, Suspense, and Suspense. This well-written and well-researched novel focuses on the importance of Art in Literature and. Women’s Contributions and Power. The author vividly describes art and artistic objects in a sensory way. Linda Moore describes her dramatic and colorful characters as complex and complicated. There are secrets, betrayals, suspense, and mystery.

Cate Adamson is an art historian and is in pursuit of getting a doctorate. After a tragedy in her family, Cate is determined that her parents be proud of her. Her mentor and supervisor doesn’t accept or tolerate a woman in this academic world. Cate’s thesis is in jeopardy because of his biased opinions. While organizing and listing the artistic contents of a museum, she finds an old painting buried in a box. Cate feels this could be from the seventeen century. After meeting with the professor, she decides not to share her findings. Cate is going to Spain and takes this painting with her, against all policies, to determine its authenticity. On the train, she meets. Antonio, a poor Duke, who claims to be the rightful owner of the House of Oliveras. Both Cate and Antonio have financial problems.

Antonio is also an attorney, and advises Cate to return the painting to the museum in the United States as soon as possible. Cate has always wondered if there were any female artists at that time. Lost and found diaries, and papers from the Oliveras Library seem to indicate important revelations that can change the Artistic World. Cate is on a journey for self-growth, and to tell the truth. This would take tremendous courage. I highly recommend this thought-provoking novel.
