Diane Barnes, the author of “All We Could Still Have,” has written an intriguing, captivating, and heartfelt novel. The genres for this novel are Fiction, Domestic Fiction, and Contemporary Fiction. This story’s themes are communication, betrayals, secrets, broken boundaries, forgiveness, and second chances. In this well-written novel, the author vividly describes the dramatic characters, the scenery, and the dialogue. Nikki and Kyle Sebastian have been a happily married couple until several rounds of IVF fail. Both feel that the only thing that would complete their marriage is having a child. When the last IVF treatment fails, Kyle is determined that both financially and emotionally enough is enough.

Nikki is determined to do anything possible to ensure that they can do another round of IVF. When Kyle discovers the deception, he feels he can’t trust Nikki. The author describes the characters as complex, complicated, flawed, and secretive. There are some betrayals and major disappointments. Nikki discovers family secrets and betrayals from her family. The last thing that Nikki expects is for Kyle to betray her. Is there any chance for forgiveness and second chances?

I appreciate that the author discusses the importance of honesty, communication, family, friends, forgiveness, second chances, love, and hope. I would highly recommend this thought-provoking novel.
