Jill Santopolo, the Author of “Stars In An Italian Sky” has written a memorable and captivating novel. The genres for this novel are Historical Fiction, Historical Romance, and Fiction. There are two timelines for this story, THEN in Genoa Italy, 1946, and NOW in New York in 2017. In this beautifully, well-written novel, the author vividly describes the scenery, landscape and colorful and dramatic characters. I loved everything about this story. It is amazing how the author manages to combine the timelines and characters.

In 1946, Vincenzo,a Count and Giovanna, a seamstress fall in love. There is passion, art, and vineyards. There will also be a vote in Italy for the people to be in charge, or the nobility to be in charge. The outcome of this election could effect their relationship. Is it possible for two people from different classes to have a relationship?

In New York in 2017, Cassandra and Luca are in love. Again, there is passion, the world of art and fashion, and wine. The couple are a great match, but their families are very different and come from different classes. Cassandra finds a secret painting in her Grandmother’s room. Luca is determined to paint both his grandfather and Cassandra’s grandmother, who have not yet met.

It is amazing how Jill Santopolo connects the past and the present. I highly recommend this emotional and thought-provoking novel to others.
