G.T. London, the Author of “Eight Weeks Later” brings up two questions: “What is Home?” and “What is a Family”? In this beautifully written book, the author introduces us to Roy Fernsby, who has adjusted to the live he is used to. After his mother died in an accident, Roy went to several Foster Homes, and finally found a family that showed him love and security. As an adult, Roy owns a quaint coffee shop in London. A laywer from Hawaii contacts Roy with startling information that Roy has inherited land in Hawaii, that had belonged to a grandmother he never knew he had. The thought of a tropical island and a beach house has him very curious. Roy wonders why none of this family looked for him sooner.

The Genres for this book are Contemporary Fiction, Suspense, Mystery, Family Drama and Contemporary Romance. The author vividly describes the islands, scenery, and colorful and dramatic characters. I love that there is a cat with a strong personality, and a dog that gets into mischief. Roy is ambivalent about staying or going home, but many of the neighbors, welcome him as family. There are secrets within his family, that caused danger for them. Someone is tampering with the house, and things are getting broken. Roy falls off a ladder that he doesn’t realize is broken. As he investigates, he learns of mysterious disappearance and threats.

Roy tries not to have any romantic attachments because of his early abandonment issues. As Roy is trying to find his family identity and his own, he realizes many things. There are twists and turns, and some shocking moments in this story. I highly recommend this story for others.
