Rea Frey, the Author of “In Every Life” has written a thought-provoking, creative and memorable novel. In the well-written novel about parallel universes, the author discusses “WHAT IF”? Sometimes we we wonder if we chose the correct path. Sometimes that is unknown. The genres for this book are romance, women’s literature, and magical realism. There is even a recipe if you want to in make certain wishes. (not guaranteed to work) The author vividly describes the timelines, scenery and the dramatic and colorful characters. Harper and Ben have a magical and wonderful marriage. Unfortunately Ben has a terminal disease, and his wish list consists of Harper finding love again, and what she really wants to do.
The journalist that is writing Ben’s story turns out to be Leo Hale, Harper’s one love for one week, years before. Harper questions if she should let Ben know who Leo really is. Harper is left with so many “What If’s” to ask and answer. I highly recommend Harper’s soul searching journey with the essence of magic. This is a heart- felt and thought-provoking novel.
