I loved everything about “That’s Another Story” by Author G.T. London. In this well written story the author vividly describes the locations, and I almost feel like I am guided through the streets of Istanbul, and the magic of various library books. The author also describes the colorful and dramatic characters as complicated, complex, and flawed. The Genres for this story are Suspense, Action and Adventure, Romance with a Dash of Wit.
Ava is mending after finding that her husband was unfaithful, and is trying to provide a stable life for herself and her college aged son. Ava is comfortable in her house, and doesn’t like the status quo in her life changed. When her elder best friend and neighbor finds a special edition of “Pride and Prejudice “ that was an engagement gift from her late husband, missing from her library, she is devastated. Ava promises that she will help look for it, but finds out that her son stole it and sold it. With the goals of keeping her son out of jail, and also returning the book to her neighbor, Ava has to fly to Istanbul. There she meets Lev Bowman, the head of security for a high tech company that is servicing the large book fair there. There are valuable documents and books that need to be guarded from dangerous thieves.
E.G. London takes us on an incredulous tour of the beautiful sights in Istanbul. I am ready to pack my bags. Ava meets Lev, and the two seem to be searching for the sophisticated thief and the stolen book. There are secrets, twists and turns, suspense, danger and surprises. Family secrets start to unravel. I appreciate how the author discusses the importance of family, friends, communication, honesty, second chances, forgiveness, love and hope. I also enjoyed reading about the character’s courage and growth. I highly recommend this memorable and thought-provoking book.
