Alex Michaelides, the Author of “The Fury” has written a riveting, captivating and intense novel. The Genres for this book are: Mystery, Thriller, Suspense, Psychological Thriller, and Fiction. The setting for this book is mostly on a Greek Island. In this twisted and edgy novel, the author visually describes the uniqueness of the Greek Island, the windy weather, and the dramatic and colorful characters. Most of the characters are actors and writers who are in Lana Farrar’s,( a retired famous movie star.) circle. Lana’s husband and son are there as well. There also is a care keeper on the island, and a housekeeper, who is also the cook. One of the guests, Elliott Chase narrates this suspenseful story. The characters have dark secrets and ambitious motives, and revenge. On this isolated island, there is danger and murder. There are twists and turns and dark complex and complicated events.
In this well written story, the author provides detailed visual images that heighten the intensity. One example is that of an enormous wasp nest, and the other is how ominous the sky and water can be. The narrator of the story adds more layers of details that add to the complex mystery. When you think the story is over, it really isn’t. There are startling surprises. I highly recommend this thought-provoking story.
