Jenn Bouchard, the Author of “Considering Us” has written an entertaining, delightful, heartfelt, and captivating novel. In this well-written Rom-Com, the author vividly describes her colorful and dramatic characters, the various scenery, and an assortment of delicious foods, especially cookies. One of the female protagonists in this story, Devon Paige has an amazing history of romantic relationships. Her most memorable one was fifteen years earlier, and lasted for one day. She did try to contact Kyle, and never was able to connect again. Devon is now a well known chef, and loses her job and reputation in the local community after an affair with a client’s husband. Devon manages to keep one client, a famous basketball player, and starts a new chapter in an exclusive boarding school managing the food and menus.
A recipe for disaster strikes, when a new student is admitted, who is the daughter of the man she had the affair with. It appears that Kyle, from fifteen years ago, is the handsome history teacher and coach. There also is an underground newspaper with unknown contributors, taking incriminating pictures of the staff. Devon seems to be in charge for the many activities on the campus. Of course Devon gets to meet some likable men. There are betrayals and secrets. Can you guess the outcome? I highly recommend this enjoyable novel!
