In this well written story about friendship, the author vividly describes four friends that went on a road trip twenty years ago, and want to repeat the road trip in the present time. The author describes her dramatic and colorful characters as complex, complicated, and flawed. Each of the characters described in the past and present have deep secrets. There are betrayals, lies, and tragic events. In this well paced novel, there is suspense and mystery. Each of the characters have family difficulties, and there are some changes noticed over the years. Decisions and secrets made from the past have a cause and effect reaction.
I appreciate how the author discusses the importance of honesty, communication, sisterhood, the importance of family, friends, love and hope. I highly recommend this thought-provoking novel.
