Rebecca Connolly, the Author of “A Carol For Mrs. Dickens” has written a captivating and entertaining novel. Mrs. Dickens, is the wife of Author Charles Dickens, who has written so lovingly about Christmas. After the loss of their baby, a now pregnant Mrs.Dickens tries her best to partake in the festivities, The Genres for this story are Historical Fiction, Holidays, Christmas, and Fiction with a touch of Magical Realism. Mrs. Dickens buys a sprig of holly from a little boy and girl to help Mr. Dickens decorate for Christmas. The author vividly describes the five senses to describe Christmas. Somehow, Mrs. Dickens is taken to her past and visits Christmas with her family, and also takes other journeys. She also visits the home of the boy and girl that she bought the holly from. This is a wonderful book that celebrates that true joys and memories of Christmas.
