The protagonist of the story, Dave Hendricks, was once a well respected man of the law. After his best friend marries Dave’s wife, Dave goes to live on a houseboat with his dog. After the sound of gun-fire and screaming, Dave finds himself investigating the crime. He finds himself working with the sheriff, who is the former best friend, and his ex-wife’s husband. People suspect that one of the deceased stole land from others, and the motive could be revenge. I recommend this edgy, intense and suspenseful novel.
