Elle Marr the Author of “THE LIE SHE WEARS” has written an edgy, intense, captivating and suspenseful novel. The Genres for this well written novel are : Suspense/Thriller, Mystery, Crime Thriller, Psychological Thriller, Women Sleuths, Serial Killer Thrillers, and Fiction. The timelines for this story are written in the past and the present. The author vividly describes the dramatic, colorful and dark characters as complex, complicated, flawed, unbalanced, manipulative and caluculating. Some of the characters could be suspect of criminal activity. There are betrayals, threats, mysterious letters, buried bodies, secrets, crimes, accidents, danger, revenge, and murders.

One of the female protagonists of the story Pearl Davis, a museum curator, has a difficult relationship with her mother, Sally. When a tragic accident kills Sally, Pearl discovers secrets and mysteries about her mother. Pearl is left letters from Sally confessing confusing and criminal information. Sally’s garden also seems to hold secrets of the past. The letters also give Pearl a warning from her mother from the grave. It seems that Pearl has now inherited her mother’s secrets and is determined to find the truth.

Before Sally’s death, Sally was having memory difficulties, and had a nurse, Zelda. Pearl’s father is in an adult home, and Pearl seeks information from both of them. As Pearl finds other acquaintances of Sally, she discovers that several of them are murdered. Pearl also finds a tracking device on her car. A valuable mask from the museum where Pearl works is stolen. Pearl is aware that someone is out to get her. Her objectives are to stay safe and understand what the motivation is.

There are different layers to this psychological terrifying story, and the tension, twists and turns, and surprises are unexpected, leading to a unbelievable conclusion. I appreciate how the author discusses the importance of communication, family, friendship, teamwork, love and home. I highly recommend this chilling thriller.
