Lindsay Macmillan, the Author and Poet of :” I Love You Like New York” “Poems and Vignettes” has vividly described and contrasts, “The City That Never Sleeps.” through poignant, expressive, heartfelt, memorable and thought-provoking images of scenery and landscape and the colorful and dramatic people of New York City. I was mesmerized and captivated through Lindsay Macmillan’s poetic verse and short stories in a sensory feel, of the sights, smells, sounds, touch, and taste of different places in New York. I love the unique and creative ways that the author describes her dreams, ambitions, fears, aspirations, hopes, and heartbreak. The author takes us to popular places in New York, and describes the modern dating and feelings of love in one’s twenties and thirties. In a witty way, Lindsay Macmillan mentions, texting, ghosting, dating and surviving relationships in one of the busiest cities in the world. This reminds me of the song, “New York, New York”, “If I can make it there, I’ll make it anywhere. It’s up to you, New York, New York”. I highly recommend the Love Poems and appreciate that this is poetry from women.
