Mara Willams, the Author for “The Epicenter of Forever” has written a thought-provoking, passionate, heartfelt, and captivating, well written novel with deep layers. The genres for this novel are: Contemporary, Suspense, Women’s Fiction, Mothers and Children, Divorce Fiction, Romance, and Eco-Fiction. I love how the author discusses the importance of ecological relationships, family relationships, friends , responsibility, forgiveness, communication, debilitating family illness, second-chances, love and hope. Mara Williams vividly describes the Mountain town of Grand Trees, which is in California fire country, and near where earthquakes occur, and the fragile relationships that have caused family struggles. The author also describes her colorful and dramatic characters as complex, complicated and flawed. There also is lovable overzealous dog.
One of the female protagonists, Eden Hawthorne has spent many childhood years there, and when her mother found a new relationship, she returns to her father’s home in San Francisco, broken hearted and angry. Eden has been estranged from her mother. Recently divorced, Eden makes a decision to visit her Mother, when she finds out that her mother she is ill. When Eden returns to Grand Trees, she discovers her widowed mother being taken care of by Caleb, the nephew of her mother’s deceased significant other. When Caleb and Eden meet, their relationship is similar to the volatile climate of the town.
I appreciate that the author discusses the importance of self-worth, self-growth, and learning to deal with the past heartbreaks and move on to the present and future. I highly recommend this memorable and emotional novel.
