My Treats to Me

#Book Mail to Me !!
“The Lost Letter” by Jillian Cantor.  “Hello Sunshine” by Laura Dave (author of Eight Hundred Grapes) Signed

Although I have the Advanced Reading Copies of “The Lost Letter” by Jillian Cantor, and “Hello Sunshine” by Laura Dave, author of “Eight Hundred Grapes”,  I treated myself to the signed books by Jillian Cantor and Laura Dave. I would have preferred to meet the authors in person, but I couldn’t go to Rhode Island where “Reading With Robin”  and the authors were, so instead I ordered the signed editions. ( I guess that is why I named my blog “Linda Book Obsession.” Some women buy shoes or pocketbooks, but I get books.)

I have read “The Lost Letter” by Jillian Cantor and my review is on my blog my Facebook page https://www,  Twitter @peachyteach and Goodreads. “The Lost Letter ” is one of my favorite books this year. I loved everything about it.

I look forward to reading “Hello Sunshine” from Laura Dave, and will post a review. I enjoyed “Eight Hundred Grapes” by Laura Dave.

Some of my friends don’t understand why I buy the books or e-books, when I have read the advanced copies. The Advanced Reading Copies and Advanced Reading Editions are wonderful to be able to read the book before everyone else and I enjoy seeing of how I feel about a book before it comes out. They are not final copies and sometimes editions and final notes are left out. It also helps support the authors.

What’s even better is that there is something special about getting book mail. In this case, I was the lucky recipient.  My treat to me !! Happy Reading!!!

  1. Hallo, Hallo! 🙂

Thanks for finding me on Twitter! 🙂 I am looking forward to the day where I can purchase final editions of the books I cherished reading as ARCs! Like you, I am super-obsessed with books, reading and stories! Hence why I named my blog the way in which I did! lol You and are are birds of the same feather in this regard! Also, it shouldn’t have to be said why we like to purchase final copies – I mean, all of us who are blessed by the book world as book bloggers like to give back and give a hearty nod to those of whom impress us most by the way in which they inspire us into their world-building and their depth of character development! Apparently ONLY the bookish will understand this s/o for #bookmail as a readerly gift unto oneself!

Goodness! Even when my purchasing budget is nominal at best, I still get overly excited when a purchase request of mine goes through at my local library – as a book I wished to read now will be greeted by loads of others who may not even know of the author themselves! Plus, there are stores where you can get last years’ or several years’ hardbacks on discount. However which way we can collect books and add to our personal libraries is JOY.

I participated in BookTalk Nation and my only regret is I couldn’t order the author signature copies – it was an event you’d have loved yourself – where you can ‘talk’ directly to authors via YT live video and/or a direct phone (conference) call. Why they discontinued those I’ll never know…

    Celebrating with you! 🙂
