Linda’s Book Obsession Reviews “Possession” by Ginny Fite, Miford House Press, September 2020 for Suzy Approved Book Tours
Ginny Fite, the author of “Possession” has written a suspenseful and intriguing ghost novel with historical background. The genres for this novel ghost story, historical ghost story, mystery and suspense and fiction. The timelines for the story are set in the author’s present, and goes two centuries back in time when it pertains to the characters or events. The author vividly describes the characters, landscape, and events. There is a mystical and spooky feel to this story. The author describes her characters as complex, complicated, dysfunctional, obsessed and possessed.
Sylvie Andrus is recently widowed, and is obsessed to find a new start with her son Jason in a river town. After finding a note from her deceased beloved husband Ned, mentioning a woman named Clarinda from 1794 who disappeared, Sylvie is determined to find out what happened to her. Also missing from history is Calrinda’s abusive husband. Somehow, Sylvie is being driven to write this story and investigate by suspicious action. Sylvie feels and sees Ned, her deceased husband. Jason, her young son senses great danger and an evil presence.
The story is narrated between two timelines that do connect, but there is great danger, threats and murder. I would highly recommend this novel for readers who enjoy a “ghostly” novel.
