WOW! Christina McDonald, the author of “Do No Harm” has written an edgy, intense, suspenseful and captivating thriller. The author vividly describes the dramatic characters as complex and complicated. There are betrayals, secrets, danger and death. How far would a mother or parent go to protect and take care of their child? Emma is a physician who has taken the oath to take care of the sick and do no harm. When her son gets very sick, and insurance doesn’t cover the possible cure, what is Emma to do? Emma’s husband is a Police Detective that hopes to get a promotion to earn more money. His case is about drug overdose, and finding drug sellers. Emma is in a position to sell opioids to get the monies for her son’s necessary treatment. What is she to do? Does the end justify the means?
I found myself so involved in this story, that I read it in one sitting. It is a psychological, edgy and thought-provoking novel. The author brings up a sensitive and necessary topic about pain killers, medical practicing, and using drugs. I would highly recommend this story.
