Nan Rossiter, the author for “A Good Measure” has written a thought-provoking, and memorable novel. The genres for this novel are Women’s Domestic Fiction, Family Life Fiction and Contemporary Fiction. This is the third in a series that takes place on Tybee Island, and other places, and can be read as a stand alone. Nan Rossiter vividly describes her characters as complex and complicated. I appreciate that the authors has diversity in her characters. There are a group of widows, gay marriage, characters with autism and on the spectrum, veterans and PSTD, and a love of animals. This is a novel that addresses loss, family acceptance, friendship, forgiveness, second chances and love.

Being an animal lover, I appreciate the author’s description of different animals, kittens, cats, dogs, horses and cows, and kindness can make a difference.

Some of the characters have to deal with obstacles, and have to learn to adapt to new situations. Especially touching, is the relationships between mothers and children and mothers and their friends. I would highly recommend this heartwarming novel.
