Wow! Liv Constantine (Sisters Lynne Constantine and Valerie Constantine), Author/s of ‘The Senator’s Wife,” has/have written an edgy and intense psychological thriller. The authors have had me biting my gel nails, hoping not to break a tooth. I read this in one sitting, and be warned, you will be blown away by the twists and turns. The genres for this book are thriller, mystery, suspense, fiction, and psychological thriller. There are betrayals, gas-lighting, danger, attacks, and death.

The authors vividly describe their characters as complex, complicated, dark, suspect, greedy, flawed, manipulative, and dysfunctional. A few characters seem dysfunctional, and although I am not a psychologist, I would describe some as sociopaths or psychopaths. There are some unexpected surprises.

Sloane Chase and her husband, Senator Whit Montgomery, are putting the tragic deaths of their former spouses behind them as they move toward their goals. Senator Montgomery seems to have all the traits that a politician today displays and has an agenda to be fulfilled. Sloane runs a charitable foundation, and despite having lupus, she is very involved with her work. Sloane and Whit hire someone to help when she needs a hip replacement. They choose Athena Karras, a beautiful woman to care for and help Sloane while she recovers. Unfortunately, Sloane’s health seems to take a turn for the worse. Sloane is put on higher doses of medication.

Several of Sloane’s friends want to be helpful, but strange happenings prevent that. Sloane seems to be getting forgetful and having hallucinations. I highly recommend and encourage you to read this book to try and figure out what is happening. My Diagnosis: Another winner from Liv Constantine!
