
OMG! I was up all night thinking and reflecting about “UNDER AN INDIANA SKY” by Author, Lynne Hugo, who has written an amazing, thought-provoking, powerful, and captivating novel. In this well written and well told story, I appreciate how Lynne Hugo discusses important topics such as drug addiction and the effects on society, family, friends, and loved ones. The Author weaves contemporary issues and problems with different characters that eventually become connected and join together. Lynne Hugo vividly describes the scenery, background, plot and the dramatic, and dark characters. The characters can be described as bold, dysfunctional, toxic, flawed, ambitious, greedy, good and evil. Some of the women are brave and courageous.

There are twists and turns, betrayals, secrets, espionage in the drug industry, danger, threats, and deaths. In this community, there is tragedy among several families, when two people die from overdoses. The families are connected but not aware of it at the beginning. Are the overdoses accidental or murder? Several of the women search for the answers in what becomes an intense, memorable and thought-provoking read. I appreciate that Lynne Hugo writes about contemporary problems, the importance of family, friends, community, seeking help for mental health issues, love, and hope. I highly recommend this powerful novel.
