My Review of “The Dreams of Youth” by Linda Mahkovec
I loved this collection of thoughts in “Dreams of Youth” by Linda Mahkovec. In all of her books, Linda writes about love, beauty and meaning. In this very short heartwarming book , the main character is Maggie, almost a “Superwoman” in the roles she plays to everyone around her. Maggie is the wife, mother, friend, Nurse, confidant, and often questions her dreams or goals, as life changes. One of the things I love about Linda’s writing, is her descriptions of everything and anything, which are so appealing to the senses. Maggie grew up in an orphanage, and yet remains positive. We see Maggie’s perspective change in regard to the characters in her life. Through the short excerpts, we see an idealist in young Maggie. As Maggie ages, there is beauty and the adventure and challenges of life.
I would recommend this story for those who enjoy an emotional heartwarming story.
Happy Reading!
