What you need to know about Karen Cleveland, Author of “Need to Know”, is this is an intense, captivating, unique and entertaining story. Karen Cleveland, was A CIA Analyst and worked for the FBI. During her maternity leave she wrote “Need to Know” Also, for your information this novel will shortly be made into a film adaptation.

What you need to know is that the Genres for this story are Thriller, Political Thriller, Mystery and Suspense, Fiction with an Essence of Romance. The author describes the characters as complex and complicated. There are dark secrets, lies, betrayals and twists and turns.

Vivian Miller is a CIA counterintelligence analyst, working mainly on discovering Russian sleeper cells on American soil. Vivian is married to Matt, who is a supportive husband to her their four children. One of the children has a heart condition that has to be carefully monitored. The Miller’s mission is to  make financial ends meet, bring up their four young children and manage to fit this in while Vivian is at work. Matt works mostly from home, and really seems to pull his weight.

While Vivian is at  her job at the CIA, looking into leads on Russian sleeper cells, she finds a program that will identify some of these people who are hiding in America, but really are working in one way or another for Russia. When Vivian presses the button on the screen, she gets the shock of her life. What she discovers will shake both the foundation of American loyalty and  her own life decisions.

This is one terrifying and highly suspenseful  novel. There are twists and turns, and ups and downs. Who can you trust? There is danger. There is loyalty and treason to our country discussed. I would recommend this  political thriller for readers that enjoy these genres. I received A Reading Copy from the Publisher for my honest review.
