Linda’s Book Obsession Reviews “Daytime Drama” by Sarahlyn Bruck, 2021 On tour with Suzy Approved Book Tours
Sarahlyn Bruck, the author of “Daytime Drama” has written a captivating and intriguing novel. The genres for this novel are Fiction, Family Fiction, and Women’s Fiction with a dash of romance. The timeline for this novel is set in the present and goes to the past when it pertains to the characters or events. The author describes her dramatic characters as complex, complicated, and flawed. I appreciate that the author vividly describes her settings and plot.
This “Daytime Drama” literally takes the stage during a soap opera for actress and mother Calliope Hart who plays Jessica Sinclair on a well known soap opera. In Calliope’s real life her stage at home during the day and evening are just as dramatic with her mother and son. Callie pays the biological father off to stay away. It is a form of blackmail by the father. She has a boyfriend that she hasn’t brought home. There are secrets from all the family members.
Callie’s worst nightmare is when the major members of the cast are told that the soap is going to be cancelled, and the last few episodes will be produced. Who is going to support her family? I would recommend this entertaining and easy to read novel. Happy Reading!
