When Libby goes for her 10 year physical checkup, she is sure that the cancer she had has returned, and she is totally thrown when she gets the information that all is clear! It should be a day for celebration! So much has gone on in Libby’s life, especially since her father passed away 5 months before. One of her twin daughters has diabetes and her sugar has to be carefully monitored. When her husband Shiloh comes home, he forgets to ask how Libby did at the doctor. Even Paul, her twin-brother has shocking news for her. Libby realizes that she needs to get away with her family. She is expecting a wonderful vacation in Puerto Rico.
The best part of the trip will be to visit a special friend that is like a mother to Libby. The first thing that happens is that everyone is aware of many things destroyed from the last hurricane. Even a trip to the beach turns out to be an adventure when Libby gets attacked by jelly fish. The twin daughters are constantly baiting one another, and there is constant verbal sparring. No one is aware of a major storm or hurricane that is headed their way.
I appreciate that Camille Pagan discusses, the importance of family, friendship, love and hope. Life is not always an easy journey.
