Deborah Goodrich Royce, Author of “Ruby Falls” has written an intense, suspenseful, psychological thriller. The genres for this book are Psychological Thriller, Suspense, and Literary Fiction. The story takes place in California. The novel is written in the author’s present and goes to the past when it pertains to the characters or events. The author describes her strange and unusual characters as complex and complicated. This story is based on “Rebecca”, which was made into a film by Alfred Hitchcock. This certainly has all the feels of a Hitchcock production, and is edgy, mysterious and has much gaslighting.

The protagonist in this story is Eleanor Ruby Russell, who is haunted by memories of her father leaving her in a dark cave, when she was 6 years old, and never coming back. Eleanor is now an actress in the film ,”Rebecca”. Eleanor is married to a man she barely knows, and he seems to have secrets, just like Eleanor does. Eleanor feels she is living a strange live, and there are signs that she could be in great trouble.

This is a book with twists and turns, betrayals, strange occurrences and dark danger. I would highly recommend “Ruby Falls” to other readers.
