Jessica Gold, the author of “Perceptions and Secrets” has written a captivating and riveting novel. The genres for this book are Contemporary Fiction, Women’s Fiction and Fiction. This is one novel that I read in one sitting, and would make a fantastic screenplay, TV Series, or movie. There are betrayals, secrets, politics,and romance, with a feel of impending danger. Is the paparazzi a hindrance or a help? What can having power do?
The author describes her colorful and dramatic characters as complex and complicated. One doesn’t know what happens between closed doors.What seems perfect can be smoke, mirrors and illusion.
Two sisters, are so different, and yet their lives are so complicated. There are twists and turns. I appreciate that the background of the story takes place in New York City, and the Hamptons. This is an intense and thought-provoking novel, that I would highly recommend.
