Lian Dolan, the Author of “Lost and Found in Paris” has written an intriguing novel filled with adventure. It feels almost like a scavenger hunt for a sense of purpose. The Genres for this novel are Contemporary Fiction, Women’s Fiction, Mystery, Suspense, and Romance. The timeline for this story is set in the present and goes to the past regarding the characters and events. The author describes her dramatic characters as complex, complicated, and flawed. There are surprising twists and turns and unexpected surprises; one of the places where the story takes place in Paris.

The female protagonist, Joan Blakely, is interested in and working in art and history. Her parents are famous, although her father passed away on September 11th. Joan’s husband of ten years tells her that he is the father of 5-year-old twins. Joan decides to move on and uses this opportunity to go to Paris as an Art Courier with some valuable works of Art. Joan also hopes to connect with a friend who lives there.

The author vividly describes the beautiful scenery and many locations in Paris. Joan meets some interesting people on her trip. At the hotel, after an evening rendez-vous, she becomes aware that the art that she was carrying is gone. Joan starts receiving strange and poetic messages that show some of her father’s writings. There are also clues to historical sites and to a famous salon. Joan finds herself on a dangerous adventure to retrieve the stolen art, and find out why her father’s letters are being sent to her. I highly recommend this suspenseful novel.
