The Genres for this novel are: Dark Romance, Romance, Mafia Romance, Crime Suspense, and Contemporary. The author vividly describes the landscape, the plot, and the dark and dramatic characters. The characters are complex, complicated, dangerous, flawed and motivated. There also is a good natured dog.(I always love to see pets in novels) The female protagonist, Aurelia is headed to Taormina, with her boyfriend for a vacation in a Hotel. She discovers that he has been cheating on her. She id determined to stay the rest of the week on this vacation by herself. She does notice a sexy and handsome stranger, and finds him intriguing. The other women at the hotel seem to be paying attention to him.
Constantine, the male protagonist, and the appealing man does approach Aurelia, and the two have what might be a one night stand. At the time Aurelia does not realize how dangerous he is. Constantine is an alpha-male and is controlling. He also is known as “The Emperor”, and is known as a protector. Constantine shows Aurelia the sights of Italy, the different foods, and beautiful landscapes. The two are headed for something more than a one night stand. When Aurelia discovers Constantine’s world, she has to make an important decision. There are twists and turns, secrets, betrayals, and danger. I recommend this dark romantic and enjoyable book to others.
