WOW! In this amazing well written and well told story, the author, Kristy Woodson Harvey has written a powerful, heartfelt and memorable novel. I love all of Kristy Woodsons Harvey’s novels, and this book is just a perfect example why they are so good. The Genres for this book are: Mother’s and Children Fiction, Sister’s Fiction, Family Fiction, Southern Fiction, Summer Reads, Summer Fiction, Contemporary Literature, and Romance. The author vividly describes the gorgeous beach like scenery, and the colorful, dramatic characters. The characters are complex, complicated, flawed, quirky, likeable, and each have their own set of problems. This is such a thought-provoking novel, and I love that the subject of nature vs. nuture comes up. I also appreciate that the topic of adoption is discussed. There are secrets, betrayals, dreams, difficult choices and moral dilemmas. Several characters are searching for where they truly belong, and what their passion is.

Daisy Stevens, an NICU Nurse leaves the hospital where she is working, after an emotional day, to start working at a small hospital in Cape Carolina, in North Carolina. That same day Coach Mason Thaysden and one of his players Drew, find a crying newborn baby in a trash bin. The baby is brought to the hospital where Daisy is on duty. Mason is well liked in the community and an injury has prevented him from pursing his dreams of playing. Mason has a remarkable way of motivating his team and several members like Drew have a wonderful opportunity. Both Daisy and Mason do become attached to the newborn baby girl. If they can’t find the parents, the baby will be put up for adoption. Daisy would love to foster this baby.

Daisy gets to meet Mason’s family, and they are welcoming, quirky, and accepting. I couldn’t put this book down, and wish that there was more. I loved and highly recommend this surprising and unique story.
