Marilee Dahlman, the Author of “Mall Goddess” has written a captivating, intriguing, and unique novel. The Genres of this book are: Women’s Fiction, Satire, Romance, Woman’s Humorous Fiction, Suspense and Adventure. The Author vividly describes the scenery, landscape, plot, and the colorful and dramatic characters. The location takes place in a small town in an almost abandoned Mall. Kylie Kaiser, the female protagonist, is the Custodian of the empty mall, and also a creative and talented artist, enjoying creating and crafting Pug Piglets. There are other quirky, complicated and complex characters that are involved with the small town and the Mall. I appreciate how the author discusses Woman’s power, art and creativity, the importance of family, community, friends, love and hope. There are secrets, betrayals, town corruption, twists and turns, major surprises, and adventure. When the Mayor and Politicians want Kylie’s mall torn down, Kylie and her friends look for all avenues, and opportunities to convert the empty mall into a place where creative artists can work and educate the public. Food courts will be open and this will be one of the top attractions in the town, but only if they can stop the tear down. Kylie is the Mall Goddess, and shows growth in her activity, but creating other kinds of art, and helps to get the community together to save the Mall. With Political Corruption, and private interference is this possible? I highly recommend this thought-provoking novel.
