Wow! Kieran Scott, Author of “The Getaway” has written an intense, captivating, intriguing thriller. The Genres for this well-written novel are : Thriller, Mystery, Suspense, Women’s Friendship Fiction, Women’s Sleuths,, Murder Thrillers and Fiction. The setting for this unique book is a millionaire’s resort, in the Hamptons called “The Villa”. Three couples, visit “The Villa” once a year for vacation, and this year there are other guests. The weather predicted is a Hurricane and terrible storms in this beachfront community. The owner of “The Villa” has a new wife, and the friends feel a loyalty to the ex-wife. Kieran Scott vividly describes the landscape, weather, the scenery and the dramatic and colorful characters. The characters can be described as complex, complicated, each has their own problems, and suspicious. One of my favorite characters is a dog with a unique personality.
There are secrets, twists and turns, threats, danger, and murder. Some of the characters have motivation to kill. Mysterious blue cards appear in most of the guest’s rooms, revealing the guest’s secrets. The questions of who, and what and why need to be answered. I appreciate the author’s use of the Hurricane as a background that keeps the characters kept in close vicinity to one another. This is a quick read, with adventure, chills and thrills that I highly recommend.
