Kudos to Yasmin Angoe, the Author of “The Ferryman’s Daughter” for writing such a unique, intense, powerful, suspenseful thriller. I had trouble going back to sleep after reading this book! Be Warned, be careful of reading before bedtime. The Genres for this well written novel are ” Thriller, Psychological thriller, Suspense, Mystery, Serial Killer, Women’s Detective Fiction, Black and African American Mystery and Thriller. Do you think that the Biological Daughter of a Serial, Psychotic Killer can be influenced by nature or nurture?
Yasmin Angoe vividly describes the background, the props, the plot, and the dark and dramatic characters. The Female Protagonist,Sanaa Kareen, has taken her mother’s maiden name as her last name. Her serial killer father was a Professor, but also was known as “The Ferryman” When Sanaa discovers his role when she is 7 years, old, her Aunt and Uncle try to give her the emotional support she needs. Sanaa’s father is gone for years, but there are recent bodies that turn up with the Ferryman’s trademarks of killing. Sanaa’ fiancee, Marcus Morelli, is a detective working on the case, and has no idea of Sanaa’s past. Unfortunately, Sanaa is getting threatening letters, and “disturbing reminders” of the past. Sanaa is also getting mysterious texts, and unusual objects from when she was a child are showing up. Sanaa has an amazing grasp of finding clues, but prefers to teach Forensic Science.
Wow! The author writes about twists and turns, highs and lows, red herring clues, kidnapping, threats, danger, and murder. There are secrets and betrayals, and unexpected surprises. I highly recommend that you read this thought-provoking novel!
