OMG! I love everything about “Set Your Life on Fire” by Maddie Dawson. Maddie Dawson is an amazing writer and storyteller, that had me hysterically laughing from the first page! True, I had to use my inhalers, and Alex, my dog wasn’t sure if I was laughing or crying. This is exactly what the Doctor ordered for me!! The Genres for this novel are: Fiction, Contemporary Romance, Romance, Road Trip, Women’s Humorous Fiction, Women’s Divorce Fiction, and Humorous Fiction. Maddie Dawson vividly describes the scenery, plot/s, and the Colorful and Dramatic Characters. (Of course there is an adorable dog.)
The female protagonist, Tasha Jensen opens a package delivered to her with a baby outfit addressed to her husband and another woman. She races upstairs to check for her husband’s messages, and discovers the hospital bills for this baby. She packs her bags, goes to the bank, and is determined to leave, and in an ice-storm goes to the airport. Tasha is so upset, that she attracts the attention of Carter McGee, who hands her tissues, as she is having a melt-down. Carter is determined to get to the Church on time to stop his ex-wife from getting married to someone else. Weather conditions are such, that the flight is delayed, but Carter rents a car, and convinces to drive Tasha to where she wants to go. Carter is very close to his family, and one of my favorite characters is his 80 year old Grandmother, Bootsie, who has a bucket list of her own.
I highly recommend that you read this memorable, thought-provoking, witty, and heartfelt book to experience the craziest Road Trip Ever. I love how the Author discusses betrayal, honesty, the importance of family, friends, forgiveness, second chances, love and hope. Happy Reading!
