My Review of  “The Seasonaires” by Janna King  Pegasus Books,  On Sale May 2, 2018

Bravo to  Janna King, Author of ‘The Seasonaires”  for such a unique, sensual, captivating, intense, suspenseful  and captivating novel. The  Genres for this novel are Fiction, and Mystery. The timeline of the story is set in the present during the summer in Nantucket.

This is a coming of age story with suspense and mystery.    Only a select few number of young people get the opportunity to become a Seasonaire.   A Seasonaire’s job is to represent an  expensive clothing line, by wearing the clothing, taking Instagram, and Snapchat photos, and other media that is useful. They mingle with the ‘beautiful ” people.  Going to the beach, yachts, parties, drinking, drugs, sex and all kinds of fun are encouraged and part of the job. This and more for a couple of thousand dollars for the summer. It is almost getting away with murder!!!

In this novel there are twists and turns, there is jealousy and betrayal, suspense and murder. There is competition among the fashion industry, and danger.  Is anyone or anything perfect?  Are people who they say they are? The author describes her characters as complex and complicated. There are also secrets.  Is there really something that seems to good to be true?

I appreciate that the author discusses the problems of media in society today, the problem with alcohol and drugs.  The author also discusses self-worth, and growth, the importance of family, love and support.

I would highly recommend this entertaining and intriguing novel for readers that enjoy  fiction, suspense and mystery. I received an ARC for my honest review.
