Susan Schild, the author of “Pecan Pie for Breakfast” by Susan Schild has written an entertaining, delicious and delightful story. The genres for this novel are Fiction, Women’s Fiction, and Romance. The timeline for this story is set in the present and goes to the past when it pertains to the characters or events. The author describes her characters as each having their own problems and decisions to make. Of course there is a loveable and cute dog that certainly has won my heart. I love that Susan Schild often describes older single women that are looking to find themselves, and in the process looking for love.

I appreciate that the author proves women can be strong and part of a sisterhood that helps one another. Cricket, is in her mid forties, and needs closure from her divorce. She has a business that is thriving,but seems to have growing pains. Some of her clients are leaving with no explanation, and she wants to understand what is going on.

Cricket is back on the dating scene and literally falls into the lap of a possible suitor, while on a date. Will Cricket be able to find what she wants in life? This is a witty and fun book with a happily ever after that I would recommend to other readers.
