My Review of “The Great Tree, A Christmas Fable” by Able Barrett

Able Barrett, the author of “The Great Tree, A Christmas Fable” has magically written a story that takes place before Christmas. In this unique short fable, the author has written this for children and adults of all ages. This would certainly be a great read-aloud to a young child, who is ready to listen to fairy tales, and enchantment.

In this fable that shows good vs. evil, courage and honesty, the enormous tree sits symbolically. A brother searches for his lost brother that was taken by the evil “Prince of Darkness”. Both were captured, and one escaped. Their mother is dying , and Andrew is determined to find his brother. At great risk, and danger, Andrew with his dog, Jenny, searches for his brother Nicholas. There are many obstacles, wolves, sorcerers, and evil protectors. There are also pictures, which are a great visible enhancement. There is also a positive ending.

I appreciate that the author mentions and supports and animal charity that helps dogs, horses and other animals that have run out of chances. I would recommend book for others.

The Great Tree – A Christmas Fable

A Christmas Story For the Whole Family

Long ago, during more ancient times, just before Christmas, a young man with his dog, was desperately searching for his long-lost brother, so that he could see their sick and dying mother one last time before she passed. The two were separated at a very young age, when one was stolen away by the Prince of Darkness. The Great Tree, enormous in size, sat next to a castle on a mountain top, and was the heart of the kingdom of the wicked Sorcerer. This kingdom was protected by the evil Charnelgoul and his band of wolves. A small town sat at the base of the mountain in its shadow. This is the setting for an adventure story that changed Christmas forever.
