Julie Hatcher, the Author of “Book Club Confidential” has written a thought-provoking, heartfelt, and memorable novel. Have you ever heard the expression, “What goes on in Book Club Stays in Book Club?” Three close friends meet for drinks, discussions, and books at their small book club. Kate, is an influencer with a huge following, and is tired of pretending, and wants more, especially love for her life. Tessa, is the people pleaser, and goes the extra mile to make everything perfect for everyone else. When she feels betrayed and overlooked at work, she is frustrated. Hallie, loves preparing food, and is also preparing for a wedding in a few weeks,and is ambivalent. The three women make a pact for 30 days to become the “heroine” in their own books, and change the script. Of course, what follows is an emotional, and difficult transition with certain problems.
Julie Hatcher vividly describes the characters, the plot, and scenery in this well written, delightful and enjoyable novel. She writes with wit, empathy and compassion. This is truly a wonderful book about women friendship. This also is a book that can make one think about their lives, and they do have the chance to try and change their expectations, and circumstances. I highly recommend this entertaining novel.
