Georgie Grossman has written a heartfelt and memorable novel. The Genres for this novel are Fiction, Literature, NonFiction, with a dash of Memoir. I love how Georgie Grossman describes the exquisite plantings, gardens and aged villa in France. There are wonderful vivid descriptions of figs, grapes for wine, food from the French Provence, and a place to breathe freely. Wendy and Dave visit, and find an old villa in “Bonne Vie en Provence” and fall in love. Did you think that a house could be capable of love? They bring their friends, Josh and Lee there and get the idea to make a Bed and Breakfast Hotel. They have to update the electric and plumbing, and Josh, a cook, loves the atmosphere and kitchen. The author vividly describes secret passages, rooms and staircases in this home. The timeline for this book is set in the present and goes to the past. The original owners got help for the gardening and orchards from creative people with a love of this land. The author combines the past and present. I highly recommend this colorful and memorable book to others.
