I am thrilled that Linda Mahkovec, Author has written a tenth book in ‘The Christmastime Series”, “Harvest Time 1947, A Love Story” . This is a continuation of the wonderful, delightful, intriguing and captivating books that the author has written. The Genres for this story are:Historical Fiction, Saga Fiction, Family Saga Fiction, and Holiday Fiction. The timeline for this story is set immediately after the war, when many men and women were transitioning into a different life. Women were losing professional positions they held, to make room for the men, Many of the men came home questioning many things. I love that Linda Mahkovec writes about the positive and tells the story in such a hopeful way. The Author vividly describes the scenery, landscapes, plots and the colorful and dramatic characters. Most of the characters are the same, dealing with different situations. This story takes place in New York City, and on the farm in Illinois. The reader gets a wonderful glimpse into a special Halloween celebration with literacy and special effects in the City, and the harvest time, and family time on the farm. I appreciate how the author discusses the importance of family, friends, neighbors, transitions, love and hope. I highly recommend this novel, and I hope that Linda Mahkovec continues this series.
