Cristopher Swann, the author of “Never Go Home” has written an intense action filled thriller. The genres for this novel are Thriller, Mystery and Suspense, Psychological Thriller and Fiction. The author describes the dramatic characters as complicated and complex. There are betrayals, secrets, threats, danger, kidnapping, arson, weapons, blackmail, retaliation, bloodshed, and murder. The action in this novel reminds me of the “Energizer Bunny” that keeps going and going. There are twists and turns and unexpected activity and maneuvers.

Susannah Faulkner and her brother Ethan lost both their parents in a tragedy, and were brought up by their Uncle Gavin. Ethan is a teacher, and Susannah carries the burdens and her torturous past with her. Susannah is intense and calculating when she fights for what she feels is right. She can be extremely violent when provoked.

Susannah is called home where she is needed as soon as possible. At the airport, her Uncle Gavin is rushed to the hospital, and Ethan has urgent needs to speak to her as soon as possible. Before her uncle goes into surgery, he asks her to do something for him. Uncle Gavin is familiar with gang friction in the area.

Ethan informs Susannah that he had a visit with a person who served with their deceased father in Iraq, who is demanding his share of stolen money. Now Susannah is faced with deadly decisions. This is the second book in a series, but can be read as a stand alone. I look forward to reading the next novel, and highly recommend this dramatic, intense and captivating novel.
