Dedication to Hilary Levack Gish, My Baby Sister
It is with the greatest sorrow that I announced my sista Hilary passed away.
I want to share some of the memories that I have of Hilary today.
Years ago, times were different when we grew up in Far Rockaway.
We rollerskated with skates with keys, played ball, rode bikes, potsy and would play.
After school, we headed out the door to meet with friends and neighbors, and get fresh air.
Hilary was a team player and would follow the rules and be fair.
Often we would go to the beach, create in the sand and go in the ocean water
Once a week on the boardwalk, we would play games, watch fireworks, as the weather got hotter.
Our parents took us on vacations to Lake George and other great places
We got the opportunity to seize the moment, have adventures and see new faces.
Often we would take a long ride, be in our pajamas and watch a drive in movie in the car.
Those family moments were memorable and worth many a star.
Hilary had many friends, and when younger liked to hang out with mine
The 4 year older crew thought Hilary was so cute, and that was just fine.
Hilary had one special trait at a very young age, which continued as time passed on
Did you know that she was really a cat whisperer, who loved cats from night to dawn
Hilary was an animal lover and treated our cats just fine.
The cats ,(all named Puss) had lives that existed besides the usual nine.
Hilary painted and had a special way of expressing her style
She was talented, creative. And special far by a mile
My husband Lewis would let Hilary drive his car
From that moment you, knew that she would be going far.
Hilary had her own expressive style and loved to buy jewelry, clothes, bags and more
Even better, was the energy to go back and get a better price from the store.
Hilary was gentle, compassionate, thoughtful, and kind.
Hilary had a big heart, loads of love, helpful and would always be there and shined.
Hilary was instrumental and helpful in taking care of our dad
When he became sick, Hilary was devoted, patient, loving and never mad.
Hilary became interested in healthy nutrition, exercsing and living clean
She walked, tried yoga, kick boxing, the treadmill and certainly was a queen.
Hilary was team Dunkin Donuts, and I was team Starbuck, and that was our spat
She was adamant on adding dunkin’ shots to show me Dunkin’ was better than that
When Lewis (my husband) passed away, Hilary would call me everyday
She would take me to doctors for procedures, surgeries and a consult.
Hilary was like a nurse, and make sure that I had everything I would need to get the best result.
Hilary was special, thoughtful, loving, helpful kind and the best sister that God could ever send.
She was my best friend through thick and thin forever through the end.
Dearest Hilary, I love you yesterday, today and tomorrow through infinity. May these memories be a blessing. Love, Linda Xo
